Highway 2 vehicle collision claims life of 29-year-old driver

Moose Jaw RCMP say Monday’s serious motor vehicle collision north of the city proved to be fatal.

RCMP were dispatched at around 1:30 p.m. to Highway 2, about two kilometres north of the city, where a vehicle travelling north collided with a semi-tractor trailer heading south.

The driver of the northbound vehicle – a 29-year-old woman – was pronounced deceased at the scene; she was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

The driver and lone occupant of the semi-tractor did not sustain any injuries.

RCMP believe alcohol or drugs were not a factor at this time as the investigation continues.

The highway was reopened in both directions at 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
