Outlaw Trail Spirits producing hand sanitizer using donations from the community

Outlaw Trail Spirits have donated more than 1,300 litres of hand sanitizer to various community groups, as well as police services and first responders.

The distillery received donations of ingredients and cash donations from other businesses. Outlaw Trail Spirits is also selling the product so that they can continue to keep the business open.

Co-owner Charmaine Styles said those donations have made their operations easier.

“It brought me to tears a number of times,” Styles said. “It’s like, ‘how am I going to this? How am I going to find this? How am I going to get this done?’

“All it took was a few phone calls, and (people said) ‘hey, whatever you need, let me know what I can do to help you.”

Styles said Outlaw is now selling hand sanitizer in order to keep the lights on.

“That seems to be our new business, but as well we’ve decided to continue to help our community as much as we can with continued donations to those that need it in our community.”

Styles adds a quarter of their future batch will be donated. Their first donation was made April 14th.
