Man facing charges after fleeing scene of accident in northwest Regina

A man is facing several charges after running a stop sign and the fleeing the scene of an accident in northwest Regina Sunday night.

Around 8:30 p.m. officers were called to the intersection of Rochdale Boulevard and North Devonshire Drive.

A vehicle heading west on Rochdale ran a stop sign, then swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle before flipping onto its side in the northwest corner of the intersection.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, but was arrested a short time later and taken to hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

21 year-old Christian Hagel faces four charges: failure to stop at an accident, obstructing a police officer, and two counts of driving while prohibited.

Hagel will appear in provincial court on June 30.
