Tuesday is the national day of mourning for workers who were killed or injured on the job.
The provincial government will fly their flags at half-mast to honour those workers after lobbying from the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour.
The SFL has also been working throughout the year to ensure occupational health and safety standards while working with the Workers Compensation Board.
Among other things, the SFL is also working to have a $15 an hour minimum wage and paid sick days.
36 people either lost their lives or were injured last year while at work.
