Unifor says they will be holding a car rally on Wednesday for locked out workers of the Co-op Refinery Complex.
The union says its intentions are to pressure the province for a legislated solution to the lockout.
The lockout is now in its 146th day, after no resolution following special mediator Vince Ready stepping in and trying to help the two sides reach an agreement.
“By snubbing the report from the premier’s mediators, Co-op has demonstrated that it cannot be trusted to bargain nor end the lockout in good faith,” Jerry Dias, Unifor National President said in a news release.
“We’re encouraging Premier Moe to show leadership and bring an end to this dispute.”
Votes on FCL’s latest and final offer will be counted on Wednesday, where a strong rejection is expected from Local 594 president Kevin Bittman.
The rally will begin at 10:00 a.m. outside the Conexus Arts Centre and will proceed to the Legislature.
Unifor says rally organizers will be practicing strict social distancing.
