Baseball fans in southern Saskatchewan may still get to see the Western Canadian Baseball League this year.
The start of the season has been delayed due to COVID-19, but after a meeting of the league’s board of governors, it has been decided to try and wait things out and delay the start of the year until late June or early July and then get a shortened year in.
While making the decision, the league stresses it will follow all guidance from civic and provincial officials as the health of all is paramount.
The WCBL, which includes the Regina Red Sox, the Moose Jaw Miller Express, the Weyburn Beavers and Swift Current 57’s, is the premier league in Canada for summer collegiate baseball.
