Rural Municipalities welcome new 7.5 billion dollar provincial stimulus program

 

Rural Municipalities are welcoming the Saskatchewan governments new 7.5 billion dollar infrastructure recovery program.

SARM president Ray Orb says the financial stimulus is important for the entire provincial economy.

He says the 300 million dollars for thin membrane surface roads and other road improvements is important for rural economic development.

Orb says rural municipalities are suffering economically from the impact of covid-19 and the additional funding is welcome.

The provincial program includes a new 150 million dollar Municipal Economic Enhancement Program to support infrastructure in communities across the province.
