Justin Trudeau has announced an agreement between Ottawa and the provinces on a wage top-up program for essential workers.
The Prime Minister said details are still being finalized, but $4-billion will come from the federal government.
“I want to underscore that this had been a collaborative effort, premiers from across the country all agreed that we need to support our essential workers, and I thank them for the continued team Canada approach,” Trudeau said.
It’s up to the provinces to determine who qualifies for the benefit.
