APAS raises concern about Unifor picket lines at farm fuel sites

APAS is raising concern about rotating Unifor picket lines threatening to delay spring seeding in Saskatchewan.

APAS raised the alarm after a recent picket line made it difficult to access a Co-op farm fuel site in Moose Jaw on Thursday.

President Todd Lewis says farmers have a very short window to seed the 2020 crop and many farmers are racing to finish the 2019 harvest.

In a world of covid-19 and food supply concerns, he says the last thing farmers need now is to have seeding compromised by not being able to get fuel.

He says many farmers rely on daily cardlock stations for fuel.
