Province running inspections at Sask. meat plants to stop COVID-19

Public health inspectors have been visiting six large meat processing facilities in Saskatchewan this week to make sure they are doing what they can to prevent COVID-19 from running through.
Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab says regulations are needed.
“There’s cooperation between those plants, and health and agriculture, to develop protocols that will minimize any risk of  transmission among workers,” said Shahab
The health ministry says the inspections look at things like response plans to the virus and looking at what the facilities are doing when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting
One of Canada’s largest COVID-19 outbreaks has been at a Cargill meat processing plant in High River, Alberta where there was a connection to more than 900 cases.
