As for the Regina case, the individual is in the Pasqua Hospital and has been living at a long-term care home.

During the government’s daily briefing on Thursday, Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Scott Livingstone, said it not clear yet where the patient contracted the virus.

“It’s not confirmed that it is in the hospital, we’re looking both in the community, the facility, as well as the hospital, and that will evolve as more contact tracing occurs over the next 24 hours.” Livingstone said.

Provincial chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab is not considering this case to be an outbreak.

“An outbreak would only be considered if there was evidence of further transmission in the hospital,” Shahab said. “There’s no evidence of any transmission.”
