Riders lose over $200,000 in 2019-2020

After making $1.4 million in 2018-19, the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost $210,064 dollars in the 2019-20 season.

The information comes in advance of the team’s annual general meeting June 24 in a shareholders package.

Some of the numbers show the team had already spent $500,000 on preparation for the now-cancelled 2020 Grey Cup game that was go to November 22 at Mosaic Stadium with another $657,000 being paid out to help keep the Montreal Alouettes in operation.

Gate receipts and sponsorships were up, but merchandise sales were down.
