Saturday morning I was up early and chomping at the bit to get going. My wife had made up a rather long shopping list and I wanted to hit the grocery store before it got too busy.
While we were sitting on the couch my wife said, “Amber Crawford posted that No Frills would be opening at 8 A.M., instead of 9 as of June 4th.” I immediately ran a calendar through my head and realized that June 4th was the previous Thursday, which meant I could get over there to get my shopping done even earlier that morning.
As I pulled into the parking lot I got a funny feeling that the information my wife gave me might have been erroneous. There wasn’t a single vehicle in the parking lot. When I walked up to the store and looked inside I didn’t see a soul anywhere. No one was standing at a register and there was no movement whatsoever.
I decided to go in and check things out. When I got into the store I heard a “Morning Jamie.” It was one of the friendly faces from the produce department. I asked, “Are you open yet?” When I got a yes as an answer I hurried out and grabbed myself a shopping cart and got down to business.
After I finished shopping and paying for my groceries I noticed there still wasn’t one other customer in the store yet. For the 1o-15 minutes my shopping took, I had the whole store to myself. It was a little eerie, but wonderful at the same time.
Now, that’s what I call hassle free shopping.
