I don’t know what the birds are feasting on, but whatever it is, it’s giving them lots of ammunition, so to speak. My vehicle has 5 or 6 direct hits from overhead on it. No use running to the car wash quite yet. In a couple of days it’ll look just like it does now. If I ran to the car wash every time a bird pooped on my vehicle, I’d probably have to take out a loan.
Usually, when a bird hits the bull’s-eye on my vehicle, it ends up being just a little white spot that is quite easy to wash off. Lately, when this stuff hits, it splatters all over the place. If it hits the side of my vehicle, I’ve suddenly got a foot long racing stripe going down one side. And it’s never just one hit. It’s like the birds are conspiring to target my vehicle. There have been times where it looks as though I’m driving a zebra to work.
I remember last year, my wife and I were sitting on the deck when suddenly, splat, a bird did it’s business right on her shoulder. One of us got a big laugh out of that one, and it wasn’t my wife. Hey, the way I looked at it, better her shoulder than my vehicle, right? Of course, I didn’t say that part out loud. I’m not that stupid.
I think I might have to add “Washing bird poop off vehicles” to next year’s budget. The problem is, I don’t know how much to budget for. It all depends on how good their aim is.
