A death investigation has been launched by the Regina Police Service (RPS) after an 18-month-old boy passed away on Wednesday.

According to RPS, at approximately 10:15 a.m. on June 10, officers were sent to the 3200 block of Arens Road East to assist paramedics with an injured child at the scene.

The boy was taken to hospital but was later pronounced deceased.

Regina police are working in conjunction with coroners service to determine the circumstances of the death. No further details have been released at this time as the investigation continues.
