RCMP are investigating after a pickup truck hit a small passenger bus early Thursday morning.

Lumsden RCMP were sent to the two vehicle collision around 5:45 a.m with the investigation showing the truck came off a grid road and hit the bus which was on Highway 11 at Bethune heading to Regina from Saskatoon with four passengers and the driver on board.

The impact of the crash caused the bus to roll with one person being ejected from the vehicle.  The remaining occupants were able to exit the vehicle, which caught on fire shortly after

Four people on the bus and the two people in the truck were sent to hospital in Regina, but the extent of their injuries are not known.

It does not appear as if alcohol played a role.
