Target date for phase four of Sask. reopen plan expected next week

A target date for part one of phase four for Saskatchewan’s reopen plan will be announced early next week.

In a news release on Thursday afternoon, the government said the guidelines for phase four will include child and youth day camps, outdoor pools and splash pads, and outdoor sports and activities for individuals and groups.

Phase two will incorporate indoor pools, indoor rinks, libraries, museums, galleries, movie theatres, casinos and bingo halls. A target for the second part of phase four will be announced at a later date.

Changes have also been made to gradually allow for larger gatherings involving graduation ceremonies and places of worship.

The number of people allowed in places of worship is increasing to one-third of the seating capacity of a facility to a maximum of 150 people – whichever is less. As for grad ceremonies, there will be options for virtual, drive-in and outdoor services with specific measures for participants to follow for each situation.

The government noted public health officials will be monitoring the outcomes from these gatherings over the next several weeks when determining re-opening dates for other activities down the road.
