Provincial government planning to discipline employee for inappropriate post about China

The provincial government says that disciplinary action will be taken against a Saskatchewan Party employee behind an inappropriate post on social media about China.

Earlier this week, a screen shot of a text exchange, showing a conversation about eating dogs and China, was posted to the Instagram account of Alyssa Leippi.

Leippi works as an advisor and consultant for communications services with executive council and the Premier’s office.

A spokesman for the premier’s office says the “inappropriate social media activity” doesn’t reflect the government’s views and policies.

NDP Leader Ryan Meili called the post “derogatory” and is demanding the government address the issue with the “seriousness it deserves”.

The government says the issue has been addressed with the employee, and human resources is making sure that “proper and corrective measures” are taken.
