Regina police are investigating after those inside the Harbour Landing Walmart had to be evacuated after someone was hit with bear spray.

Customers say they experienced a strong smell of bear spray leaving many to start coughing or gasping for air as they made their way out of the store with staff telling people to leave their carts where they were and get out.   Customers were allowed back in the store about 30 minutes later once some fresh air had gotten into the building.

Police say a man was hit with bear spray, but did not need medical attention with the suspect getting away.

There were no injuries.

The incident happened around 8:30 Friday night
