The Queen City, along with most of the southern part of the province experienced some heavy winds yesterday, seeing gusts of over 90 km/h .
Mark Melsness, Meteorologist with Environment Canada says the extremely windy weather seems to be behind us.
“It looks like winds are going to be settling down a little bit, still quite windy over Regina and southeastern Saskatchewan,” said Melsness. “Looks like a cold front will be coming through, and we’ll see some showers coming in with that, and lighter winds later today. It looks like the windiest weather is over for now.”
10-15 mm of rain is expected to fall in Regina Sunday, and Melsness says the rain will be here to stay for a couple days.
“We are looking at a few different rainy episodes throughout the next few days,” said Melsness. “Looks like quite a large low is forecast to kind of just park itself over southern Saskatchewan. Hopefully we get some much needed moisture out of some of these systems.”
