Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Regina and other parts of SK

Whether or not, the 10-15 millimeters of rain that was forecast to fall on the Regina area Sunday may or may not happen, but the Queen City is under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Environment Canada says a trough of low pressure over eastern Saskatchewan is triggering showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon with those thunderstorms having the possibility to be severe. Radar does indicate that there is a possibility of hail. The threat for severe thunderstorms will persist late into the evening when thunderstorms are expected to gradually weaken.

The watch also includes the Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Assiniboia, Yorkton, Melville and Fort Qu’Appelle regions.
