Fees at U of R going down for fall semester

Calls for the University of Regina to decrease tuition because of COVID-19 and online classes have been heard with students getting a break of almost 200 dollars

In a video, Interim President Thomas Chase says while tuition can’t be decreased, they will be decreasing fees by $188.

Chase says the health and safety of faculty, students and staff is their number one priority which is why fall classes will be held online and that significant time has been invested to make the remote learning experience as engaging and as effective as possible.

While he recognizes the financial burden students are facing, he says they cannot reduce tuition due to fixed or increased costs and that the U of R has done things like waived late payment fees, suspended parking fees and financial holds have been removed.

Chase adds he acknowledges the call
