A COVID-19 outbreak is being declared by the Saskatchewan Health Authority in two Hutterite communities in the Rural Municipality of Maple Creek (No.111)

The SHA says two members of a rural household in the area initially tested positive for the virus last week with 14 more positive cases being confirmed on Wednesday.

Contact tracing and active case finding has started with cases being investigated for connection to interprovincial travel to Alberta as well as travel in the area.

The SHA is reminding residents in the area to self-monitor for symptoms and take the required actions to prevent further spread. ​​​
