Impaired driving charge laid against Regina man after weekend rollover on Ring Road

A 31-year old man is facing charges including impaired driving causing bodily harm after an incident late Saturday night on the Ring Road.

Police say around 11 p.m., they were sent to the on-ramp of Winnipeg and the Ring Road after hearing of an accident. Upon arrival, police found one vehicle upside down.

An investigation showed one of the vehicles was heading south on Winnipeg and made a turn go to east when it was not safe to do so resulting in the vehicle hitting a northbound vehicle with five people in it–three of whom were children.

The force of the crash caused the eastbound turning vehicle to go upside down.

A woman in the car that flipped over was taken to hospital with minor injuries with police noticing the driver appeared to be intoxicated and in possession of a substance believed to be cocaine.

Jonathan Lennon will make his first court appearance on the matter later this month.
