Man attacked with bear mace in Retallack Street robbery

Regina police have charged an 18-year-old woman and are still on the lookout for a man following a robbery and assault on Tuesday afternoon in Regina.

Police were called at 12:45 p.m. to the 1200 block of Retallack Street for a weapons offence. When officers were in the area, a man was seen running down the street yelling that he was attacked with bear mace.

The victim said he was robbed at gunpoint at a residence on the 1200 block of Retallack Street where there were two men and two women. He had agreed to meet at the address to buy an item on a social media marketplace before an altercation ensued between him and the male suspect, which involved a gun.

As the victim attempted to flee the physical struggle, a woman sprayed him with bear mace, and the suspects managed to steal his belongings.

Officers recovered the firearm upon a search of the residence. Two women were inside the home and police determined the one of the females was the suspect who sprayed bear mace at the victim.

18-year-old Andrea Galbraith was charged with assault with a weapon. She will make her first court appearance on August 10 in provincial court.

Regina police are still searching for a man who allegedly committed the robbery with a firearm. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
