Saskatchewan supporting International Protein Summit

An International Protein Summit is being held this week with support from the Saskatchewan government.

Saskatchewan Trade and Export Development Director Robin Speer says the virtual protein summit allows Saskatchewan to showcase the high protein crops produced in the province.

Speer says about ten percent of pulse crops are processed in Saskatchewan and the province wants to see it jump to 50 percent by 2030.

He says it would add another billion dollars in added revenue.

Last year the Protein Summit was held in Saskatoon and this year it was scheduled for Toronto.
