New Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan fundraiser gets off to great start

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation has  kicked off its ‘Now More Than Ever’ campaign.   This campaign will  help fund vital solutions including virtual robotic care, world-class equipment, mental health support and dedicated spaces with integrated infection control.

Foundation President and CEO Brynn Boback-Lane says donations will have double the impact thanks to a Maple Creek resident who will match donations up to a million dollars.

Boback-Lane says Jack Herman just wanted to give back to kids in his home province who need the Saskatoon facility.

“He came to us and said I would like to donate a million dollars because I want to help sick children.” Boback-Lane said. “When you hear that, it gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling and makes you so happy to be from this amazing and giving province. The people of Saskatchewan, whether they are building families and building futures here or they are living elsewhere, but their roots are here are people that want to continue creating and building here for future generations.”

Boback-Lane acknowledges fundraising can be tough as we deal with a global pandemic, but the work being done at the hospital is one that doesn’t stop and is perhaps more important now to ensure babies, children and families have everything they need to get better and be safe.
