Moosomin RCMP are reporting that a 24-year-old man has died and two teenage girls are injured following a single vehicle rollover on Thursday by the town of Moosomin.
RCMP officers, along with EMS and Moosomin Fire and Rescue, were called to a rollover on what was described as a “narrow and uneven grid road” about five kilometres south and 18 kilometres west of Moosomin.
According to the report from police, an eastbound passenger vehicle carrying the 24-year-old and two girls ages 15 and 18 lost control and rolled into the ditch. The man and 15-year-old female were both ejected from the vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The two females were taken to hospital, however the severity of their injuries has not been released.
Initial findings have indicated that a lack of seatbelts being used and driver inexperience may have been causes in the accident. An RCMP forensic reconstructionist is working on the investigation with the coroner’s service.
