Weekend altercation in downtown area sees two get charged

Two men are facing assault with a weapon and mischief charges after an incident Friday night in downtown Regina.

Regina police say they were called to a business on the 2100 block of Albert Street just after 10:30 after getting a report of an altercation.

Police say two women were buying food at the business when two men started to yell and swear at them. The women went to their vehicle with the men following. They allegedly struck the vehicle with a large metal pole before police arrived to take the pair into custody without incident.

32 year old Brandon Bellegarde and 50 year old Allan Shepherd, both of Regina, will make a court appearance next month.
