SJHL’s Humboldt Broncos suspend assistant coach after RCMP issues charges against him

The Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League have suspended assistant coach Curtis Toneff.

The move comes after Toneff was charged with assault by the RCMP in connection to an incident that took place May 24th.

In a statement on the team’s website, the Broncos say the 27-year-old Toneff will have no further association with the hockey team until further notice.

Toneff, who is from Nanaimo, B.C,  joined the  organization at the start of the 2019-20 season after spending two seasons coaching the Nanaimo Buccaneers of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.
