Three people facing weapons charges after Wednesday break and enter

Three people have been charged in connection to a weapons offence that started with a break and enter earlier in the week.

On Wednesday, Regina Police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Retallack Street for a weapons call. One of the victims reported that three suspects had just broken into her home. Police arrived to see two men leaving the house, the men ignored police commands to stop and ran away from the house.

During the following foot pursuit, officers were able to catch one of the men and located items that belonged to the victim which he had discarded during the foot chase.

After investigation, police learned that two men and a woman forced open the door to the house and started looking for valuables.

The 49-year-old female victim was assaulted while the suspects rummaged the house. The suspects stole several items and fled. While police were with the victims, they were able to arrest a woman who was identified as one of the suspects.

Further investigation led to a search of a residence on the 900 block of Rae Street on July 23rd. A man was taken into custody during the search and identified as the third suspect.

26-year-old Hickson Alexander Blacksioux has been charged with 2 counts of pointing a firearm, discharging an air gun or pistol with intent, break and enter to commit robbery, resist arrest, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and sexual assault.

37-year-old Melissa Dawn Worm has been charged with break and enter to commit robbery, and sexual assault.

Both Blacksioux and Worm made their first appearance in court on Thursday.

21-year-old Aaron Roy Sparvier has been charged with break and enter to commit an indicatable offence, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, and resisting arrest.

Sparvier is set to make his first appearance in court Friday afternoon.
