City approves mail-in ballots for November’s municipal election

Reginans go to the polls in a municipal election in November.

On voting day, some can decide not to go to a polling station, but to cast their vote by mailing it in.

Mayor Michael Fougere says getting a mail-in ballot is a very easy process.

“This way you can mail in to the city election office with a proof of identification as to who you are which is signed by someone else. “Fougere said. “That application is mailed in and then the ballot is sent to you by mail so there is no human contact which is what we wanted to avoid.”

While there is no guarantee that this will improve voter turnout, the city wanted to give Reginans this option so that you can still have your say by casting a vote and staying away from others.
