The woman facing a manslaughter charge in the death of her 18 month old son made a brief court appearance Thursday morning

24 year old Chelsea Whitby was released and will be back in court September 15.

Whitby was charged earlier this week after an investigation into the death of the child in early June. At that time, police and emergency responders were called to a home on the 3200 block of Arens Road after receiving reports of an injured child. The boy was rushed to hospital, but died of his injuries.
