Impaired driving charge laid after Tuesday morning collision at Broad and Sask. intersection

A man from the Grenfell area is facing impaired driving charges in relation to the accident that took place at the intersection of Broad Street and Saskatchewan Drive in Regina Tuesday morning.

Regina Police were called to the scene just before 8:00 AM. Four vehicles were involved in the collision, with at least two known injuries. The driver of a northbound GMC Acadia rear-ended a Honda CR-V and then struck a Ford van. The Honda then struck a Mitsubishi due to the initial impact.

As fire crews attempted to pull the driver of the GMC out of his vehicle, there was evidence of drug use. After the man was taken to hospital, he was then taken to police headquarters.

49 year-old Charlton Lavallee from the Grenfell District is charged with impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm.
