Riders release Deon Lacey

The Riders have released linebacker Deon Lacey so he can pursue a job in the NFL.

Lacey signed a one-year deal with the Riders in May after spending three seasons in the NFL. With the CFL cancelling its 2020 season, Lacey has opted out so he can be available if an NFL team calls again.

Kicker Brett Lauther says he is opting out in hopes of finding work in the NFL. And according to a report, Guard Dakoda Shepley will opt out as well. The club has not confirmed either of those moves.
