More than 800 crop damage hail claims have been made across the prairies in the second week of August.
The president of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Rick Omelchenko, says more than two dozen Saskatchewan communities have been hit by hailstorms in early August.
Omelchenko says damage ranged from light to severe with hail stones from pea to tennis ball in size.
He says communities affected by hail storms in the second week of August include Regina, Southey, Lintlaw, Kisbey, Arcola, Estevan, Yorkton and Avonlea.
So far this year hail claims are about average in Saskatchewan.
