RCMP Traffic Services have made a significant seizure of a substance believed to be cocaine in the Wynyard area on Monday.
Officers were working on Highway #16 in the Wynyard area when they made a traffic stop for a driver’s license, registration and sobriety check.
During the stop, officers noticed the lone driver of the vehicle was in possession of unstamped tobacco. After the arrest of the suspect for this, officers located and seized six kilograms of cocaine, as well as several packages of unstamped tobacco.
A 33 year-old woman from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, who has not been named, has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
