Tornado, thunderstorm watches and warnings in place for east Saskatchewan

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings, as well as tornado watches for many parts of eastern Saskatchewan for Tuesday afternoon.

Tornado watches are in place for Carlyle, Oxbow, Yorkton, Melville, and Moosomin, as well as their surrounding areas.

The weather office says conditions are favourable for thunderstorms that may produce tornadoes, adding this could become a dangerous and life-threatening situation.

Severe thunderstorm watches are in place for Hudson Bay, Kamsack, and Canora, as well as their surrounding areas, while a thunderstorm warning has been issued for Pelican Narrows, Cumberland House, and their surrounding areas.

Environment Canada warns this storm could bring these areas heavy amounts of rain, large hail and strong wind gusts.
