SHA lifts visitor restrictions in Melfort, Tisdale, and Nipawin

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is easing visitor limitations in hospitals in Melfort, Tisdale, and Nipawin, and also at long-term care facilities including Pineview Lodge in Nipawin, Parkland Place in Melfort, and New Market Place in Tisdale.

The limitations were put in place on July 29th, due to positive COVID-19 cases in the RM of Star City.

Medical Health Officer, Dr. Mohammad Khan decided to lift the restrictions as there has no new positive cases in the RM for 28 days after the last positive case was reported.

The decision means that the named facilities will now follow the same policy as others across the province.

-Two family members or support persons can be identified to support patients and residents.

-Only one family member or support person can be present at the facility at one time.

-Two people can be present at one time for critical care/intensive care patients, end of life/palliative care patients, and Maternal Services Units

-Additional family members or support people can be identified for end of life/palliative, and intensive/critical care, as outlined in the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Family Presence Guidelines.
