It was an afternoon of thunderstorms for parts of Saskatchewan including Saskatoon on Thursday, which rolled over into the evening for eastern Saskatchewan where a tornado warning was issued for an area including Yorkton.
Meanwhile, Environment Canada has now confirmed that a nasty storm near Humboldt last Friday did spawn a tornado. At 5:10 p.m. on August 21st Environment Canada says a tornado was observed just north of Humboldt and has been given a rating of EF-0.
The tornado is considered a land-spout tornado, generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms.
It was also a land-spout tornado that touched down last Friday, at what was initially reported as Lake Lenore, but Environment Canada now says it was near Fulda.
