Weather and COVID-19 cause increased calls to Sask. Farm Stress Line

Difficult growing conditions and COVID-19 have caused a spike in calls to the Saskatchewan farm stress line this summer.

Mobile Crisis Services operates the farm stress line.

Acting Executive director Jan Thorson says hot dry weather has led to more uncertainty about fall harvest and rising farm stress.

Thorson says farm issues include anxiety, stress, alcohol, gambling and family issues.

The farm stress line is open round the clock.

If you are feeling stressed and need to call, their toll-free phone number is 1-800-667-4442.
