Regina City Council will reconvene Monday afternoon to wrap up last weeks meeting that went past the allowed time.
One topic remaining on the agenda is the discussion surrounding a mask mandate across the city.
Edmonton and Calgary made mask usage mandatory city wide on August 1st, numerous other municipalities around the country have done the same.
Currently there are 42 active cases of COVID-19 across Saskatchewan, however just one of those is in the Regina zone. No new cases were announced by the province on Sunday.
A mask mandate would likely mean that mask usage would be mandatory anytime a person is at a location where physical distancing of at least two metres is not possible.
Masks are already mandatory for Regina Transit users and at the University of Regina.
We’ll have more on the city’s decision and what it means later this afternoon.
