Farm Credit Canada provides 1.5 million dollars to rural community projects

Regina-based Farm Credit Canada has awarded a total of 1.5-million-dollars to 92 community projects across Canada.

FCC manager of community investment, Carla Warnyca, says the AgriSpirit Fund is designed to support community enhancement projects.

She says the goal is to keep rural communities vibrant.

The community support ranges from $5,000 to $25,000.

In Saskatchewan, $187,000 was spent on 12 projects which include new lights for the rinks in Coronach and Broadview, upgrades for the Melville and district food bank, and a solar power system for the Edgeley Community centre.

The next application period opens March 1st.
