Play structure to be auctioned off to support Habitat for Humanity Regina

The Regina chapter of Habitat for Humanity teamed up with local contractors 1080 Architecture Planning and Interiors to build and give away a play structure.

Annual Giving and Stewardship Coordinator, Amanda Cundall, says that Habitat wanted to give people a chance to see what goes into building these play structures.

“Often times, people really love shows like décor shows, that show you how to do things,” said Cundall. “While this isn’t instructional, it’s kind of neat to see things come together piece by piece.”

The finished play structure, which is worth close to $6,000, will now be raffled off, with all proceeds going towards building affordable homes for local families.

Cundall says there is a lot of excitement around the build.

“There’s some excitement, people are really interested because it’s going to be really unique,” said Cundall. “Often times, backyard playhouses in my childhood were just slapped together by the neighbourhood dads, you don’t have them professionally designed and built. There are windows in this thing, it’s going to be really tall, it’s pretty cool.

People who missed out on the chance to buy raffle tickets Saturday, have until September 30th at 3:00 pm to get in on the draw.
