New insurance policy from WestJet excludes Saskatchewan customers

Some Saskatchewan residents are confused and angered with WestJet.

The airline announced a new no-fee COVID-19 related travel insurance for customers on Monday, but Saskatchewan people are exempt.

The insurance runs from a time of frame of September 18 until August 31, 2021 and is for people travelling to Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe or the UK and does not apply to those travelling to the US or its territories, but goes on to say residents of Saskatchewan are not eligible without explaining why.

620 CKRM has reached out to Westjet looking for some clarification and an explanation as to why this is. As of yet, we have not had a response.
