Sask economy slowly bouncing back

There are signs showing the economy is starting to bounce back in Saskatchewan even as the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

The group representing Saskatchewan business has hopes the trends we are seeing continue.

Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Steve McLellan says the signs are there.

“We are starting to see sort of a semblance of normality back in businesses,” said McLellan. “There’s still a long way to go, but we are seeing cash registers ring, we’re seeing businesses get back to normal.”

While a lot of sectors are showing signs of recovery, the hospitality industry is one area that is still concerning as people still aren’t travelling at the pace they normally do and restaurants are still not able to open at full capacity.
