Vale Industries of Indian Head has unveiled a new piece of farm equipment.

The engineering manager for agriculture at Vale Industries, Clark Behrns, says a portable bin for harvest is being introduced for farmers who need quick grain storage in the field.

He says it looks like a large grain cart but is lowered to the ground for storage.

He says it is helpful for breakdowns, labour shortages or the need for in-field grain storage.

Behrns says the portable 6,500 bushel storage bin costs about $200,000 and the Grain Giant will be in production for next year.

He says two demonstrators are on display this year for sale.
