Stanley Cup final will see some Saskatchewan representation

When the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning meet Saturday night in Edmonton in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final, there is a guarantee that someone from Saskatchewan will have their name inscribed on “Hockey’s Holy Grail.”

Two members of the favoured Lightning come from Saskatchewan.  They are defencemen Luke Schenn (Saskatoon) and Brayden Coburn (Shaunavon) while Meadow Lake’s Blake Comeau plays for the Dallas Stars.

Whether or not the winning player will be able to spend a day with the Stanley Cup this year is still not known due to COVID-19 as the NHL has not said if players will be able to get personal time with the trophy as they normally do.
