Federal Court certification hearing for missing and murdered Indigenous women begins in Regina Monday

A Federal Court certification hearing will begin in Regina today for a proposed class-action lawsuit by families of missing and murdered Indigenous women.

It alleges systemic negligence on the part of the RCMP in investigating cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women.

Diane BigEagle launched the lawsuit in 2018, and is expected to attend the hearing.

BigEagle’s daughter, Danita Faith, has been missing since 2007.
