APAS launches task force to improve Saskatchewan rural cell phone and internet service

APAS has launched a task force to develop better internet and cell phone service in rural Saskatchewan.

Kerrobert area farmer Jeremy Welter is the chair of the Rural Connectivity Task Force.

Welter says the task force will meet with industry specialists and the public to find the necessary steps to improve rural internet and cell phone service.

He says farmers rely on new technology and need improved internet services for business, health care and long-distance education.

The Rural Task Force is expected to release a preliminary report by December 1st with a final report in early 2021.
